The questions were so bad I looked to see if it was from some group like "Citizens Untied." They did say things like "do you think we should continue to support this or that from Bush." Clearly I would not support anything Bush. But then the way the questions were worded it seemed more like a referendum on President Obama and what he is choosing to focus on.
We need healthcare reform. We cannot get it until we replace a batch of Democratic Senators. It does no good to try right now (with one exception), and is positively killing our chances of even holding on to Democratic seats right now. The polls are just too bad for the Senate to think it has any other effect. I will directly be affected by no healthcare reform, (unless I can work right up until there is or is not any medicare). I think I can do that but you never know. (Having said that I support anything that gets passed, however it's done, to start us on the road to reform, right now.) I don't support complaining about it while it helps us lose.
So then I read that the Democratic Party, or committee or someone ran ads backing Baucus. That is the last group I want to give to.
And I'm not so sure about any Democratic Party, even though as a progressive I have 99.9% of the agenda of most progressives, what if I am giving money to a progressive who is about to attack the President so badly, we again stand to lose.
The whole problem here is negativity. Unless we get rid of the Baucus, Bayh and that crowd we are doomed.
Unless, progressives hold up on giving the right wing all their talking points, until we can get progressives elected, we are doomed.
Negativity from the republicans is bad enough but we have got to support the President or we might as well learn Chinese. It takes 5,000 hours (I checked). Spanish takes about 2000 hours.
So today I see that CNN is doing a report about an island that Bush turned deadly to anyone who lives there. Of course that has to be cleaned up. But there was a line somewhere, can't find it again, about how President Obama continues and supports this policy. Bull. No way is he continuing anything like this. As far as cleaning it up--- it took millions to clean up a gas spill at the gas station near my house (about five years ago.) I'm guessing this cleanup is in the multi billions of dollars, probably just about what they're trying to save on the deficit. And that deficit is no joke, right now we can be bought, company by company, and we can't spend the money to stop it. The Chinese could own all our patents.
Then the Supreme Court decision can just be about no birth control for women, killing Roe v Wade, and putting everyone from children with single moms who will have very little access to jobs (the pregnancy problem--no birth control=10 or more kids), to gay people in serious danger.
What I'm saying is--it's about elections stupid. The more progressives win, the more lives we save. It just has to be all about that and jobs right now. We must get focus cause the other side sure has it.
Scott Brown--the great white hope--announced he wouldn't mind if his daughters posed nude. Far from minding, I think he would be gleeful. Why do those women stay with him? Why?
This is who we are fighting. Palin dragging her poor littlest child everywhere now. It's hard enough for a downs child to relate. This is just cruel. Where is stupid dude... fishing? Can't he watch the children? I do agree with this: I'm supporting no one but the OFA until I know what they stand for. The party needs to show if can raise money. Fine, individual candidates and the OFA money can stand for the party.
